Alyssa Cain June 12, 2018

Alyssa Cain will travel with the agronomists in the West Region. She currently is pursuing a MS degree at Oregon State University studying turfgrass management under the advisement of Dr. Alec Kowalewski.

Alyssa’s interest in turf began with an internship during her senior year of college at a local turfgrass research company in Tangent, Oregon. While the work of measuring the smallest lemmas and paleas was daunting, she enjoyed learning about turf and later went to the OSU Seed Lab to analyze grass seed samples from all over the world. Alyssa has worked as an assistant researcher since September 2018, researching herbicide resistance in annual bluegrass.

Upon completion of her MS degree in 2021, Alyssa plans to continue her education by pursuing a doctorate degree.
